This is a nice product, one I want to buy. This price however is not a "sale". It's always been $24.99 since launch. In fact, it used to come bundled with a "free" breakout board.

This is an open source clone, in some ways better IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwvorvU5v4E

It doesn't change that this isn't really a "deal". They are just back in stock. They have always been this price.

I've got both. Off the top of my head, it's more comfortable as it is bigger with a soft grip and also allows USB-C input. Also one side is flat, so it's easier to balance on a table if you're using it without a stand.

Other than that, it uses the same tips, so it's a nice upgrade. And it also runs the same open source firmware if you have ever installed that on a TS100. I'd say it's a direct upgrade without losing anything (unlike say the TS80 where you would need new tips and doesn't have the DC jack input)

Nice, I paid $75 for a TS80 and the screen got really dim over time. I guess I'll get one of these if it ever goes completely unreadable.

IMO the Pinecil ships with a useless tip. They should give you a choice or include the BC2 or at least the D24.

Interesting. If I hadn't already purchased the Sequre 001 (feels to be a TS100 clone or successor?), I probably would have considered this. Its a nice plus to have USB-C PD

For those of you with TS100, you can always make a USB-C cable. The PD connectors are ~$3 on ebay. I purchased the USB-C PD -> barrel jack cable from sequre.

The main advantage I see with Pinecil is that it can be powered by USB or anything with a 5.5mm x2.5mm barrel plug on it such as an old laptop power brick or car battery.

The Sequre is powered from USB-C only. I don't like the idea of the device always having to negotiate with a USB power supply.
