This is a perfect beginner setup. I have this table saw and LOVE IT. All the attachments to the table saw are held on the table saw. This goes on sale pretty regularly without the stand for the same price. With the stand this deal is slick.
My favorite feature is the rack and pinion fence. Easy adjustment with fine tuner knob.
The only downside is the 8 1/4" blade, so you wont be able to rip anything bigger than a 2x, but for most applications where one would use a table saw this is plenty adequate.
Would highly recommend this deal. I'd buy it now if I didnt have the saw.

Entirely different tool how can you even say that?
A track saw cant rip small boards. A table saw cant work on large objects like doors. 2 tools for different uses.

I've been interested in getting in to woodworking and was planning on getting a table saw. Would this be ok for a beginner? Not sure what features to look for.

A track saw would be more beneficial to just about any SDr
There aren't any decent track saws for $300

I've been watching table saw prices for a couple months in preparation for a big project. This is the one I'm buying. Thanks!

Agreed your going to be limited with this compared to a 10 inch and will probably end up buying a 10 inch later. Good deal if it's just small projects otherwise hold out
