even if you don't care about the resolution, your friends and family are going to judge you heavily for buying anything 720p in 2021. This standard has literally been phased out like 15 years ago.
WOW, hopefully you aren't judged to heavily for a comment this dumb....

i'm pretty sure this TV in my guest room for the infrequent times someone stays the night will pass muster with my friends and family, i can't think of one of them that is shallow enough to even think about it.

Guys, please don't use a television for a computer monitor. They are do not have the same pixel density as computer displays and can irritate or damage your eyes. A computer monitor with higher resolution costs close to this television. Please just get an actual monitor.

Geez all this talk about 4k needed on a 32 inch tv is silly at more than 5 feet away. I plan on running an atgames legends on it and our old xbox360. No room for a wider screen or heavier mount needed for larger screen. Want to be able to rotate it also for pinball. Thanks OP ordered one

I'm using a 1280x720 TV to view this thread. Guess I'll die.

But $100 for 720p is a tough sell when garbage-tier 4K TVs have been near $200.
Point the way

The medium setting was too loud. I am using it strictly through Roku, for it was place in a den/guest room that has a cable connection, but no box

I have 720p Smart TVs in my guest room and my exercise room. One is 32". One is 39". Both cost under $100. Both look GREAT and get raves from the family, because of the picture and the apps/connectivity.
They aren't big 75" TVs where somebody might notice the difference, and nobody is looking at the screen from 18" away like they would with a computer monitor.

So maybe I should judge somebody heavily for overspending on something else that's overkill for the purpose. Or on second thought, I'll get a life and spend my energy in better ways.

If you are willing to buy 720p, just go on craigslist or marketplace and buy a used one.
