These go for 50¢ per in bulk wholesale. They're all made in China. That would mean the manufacturing cost is about 25¢ per unit at most.

The old one read 96.6 three times in a row, with several minutes wait times in between, taking from 90 seconds to 70 seconds (time elapsed got lower after initial use).
The new one read 96.7 three times in a row, using the same process, taking from 100 seconds down to 80 seconds.
Packing was clean, well-protected, and sealed with tamper-preventative tape.
So, it works for us...
