how does this compare with the Costco deal for 85" Sony XBR85X90CH 4K UHD LED TV for $2170?

I can't compare, but I can tell you I'm incredibly happy with my x900h so far. I've had it for 4 days and I've been very impressed.

There is no rtings review for this TV. That review is for an RU9000 which is not the same.

Not sure but based on history I think you can assume the TU9000 will perform better than the RU9000 and the TU8000. Where that performance is in relation to the Sony is anyone's guess.

was tough to find but turns out this is an IPS panel while the Sony is a VA panel, making the Sony superior.

How was that tough to find? OP has it in the very first line of this thread's description...

Looking for answers for a few questions:

1. Why are there no ratings for this TV on rtings? Is it because the TV is too new?

2. When was this TV released? Last year?

3. This TV was 1999 and the deal got a lot of thumbs ups last month:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14873515-samsung-86-tu9000-crystal-uhd-4k-smart-tv-un86tu9000fxza-1999-99
then why is this post not getting any thumbs up for deal scores?

4. Should i wait for it to come on Costco or pull it off amazon using the prime rewards card?

5. Is this some kind of promotional pricing for a newly launched TV? Or this TV about to be phased out?

Thanks in advance. The post zheka160 seems like a pro.

Historically, Samsung does not make 86" TV's or large IPS TV's. You don't / can't (particularly in a pandemic) just start cranking out production of uber large panels out of nowhere. LG does make 86" IPS panels and has for a long time. I assume this is an LG panel branded under Samsung. Long story short, I think it's safe to assume it'll perform very, very similarly to LG's UP8000.

If it were me, I'd wait for a deal on the 85" Sony 900H as mentioned earlier in the thread as that is a vastly superior TV for not all that much more.
