Yep -- see this video specifically at 7:50 mark.... he throws out the idea of using the marine grade insert as a template to make a few customized cheaper alternatives that are each set up for different tools you wish to attach.

Great deal, thanks OP. I bought this a few months ago cause it's packout and I have to, thinking I wouldn't use it much. I'm actually surprised at how often I need a flat surface to work on and am thankful I bought it. At $35 it's a deal.

Yes it can. It mentions in the description that it is fastener ready and can have stuff mounted to it. Just be mindful of the 50lb weight capacity.
