I picked one up about 6 weeks ago for $190 and it was brand new, never been run or registered and others had as well. Been great with the addition of 2 cats.

I'll roll the dice. Can always return it I guess. A lot of times to clear older inventory they do this or sell it as refurb because of MAP pricing.

I've read so many comparisons and reviews of diff robot vacs and still can't decide which to buy. I don't think I need anything fancy and features like no-go zones since we'll mainly be using it for the main floor which is an open floorplan, less than 1000 sq ft. We have hard floors, a wool rug and kitchen mats in this area. No pets but have kids. Just want something that will be efficient like not get stuck all the time, or can't find base or miss certain areas. Features I would like - app scheduling, good clean (of course). Do I want mapping? I don't really know. As long as it cleans what it needs to I don't really care if it uses LIDAR or VSLAM or whatever or if I can see on a map in the app where it cleaned. Would you say this is a good option considering our needs?

I have about the same size apartment with all hardwood floors with a big carpet in the living room, bedroom and mats in the bathroom with the Roomba 960. I have a dog but she doesnt shed much and I find the 960 to be perfect for my needs.

I've never had to sweep except in a few spots that a round vacuum obviously cant get into. This 980/981 was the "step up model" for the 960 at the time of my purchase with the higher power boast suction when it sensed carpets.

I run mine 3x a week while im at work and have to dump it out about once a week. The only time it gets stuck is if i leave something out like a dog bone or if it eats a blanket, so you do need to prep the floor a little bit prior to it running.

If im not mistaken this has the app mapping and wifi mapping feature and while its cool to see the first few times you will never look at it again lol. Just set the days and time you want it to run and it will send you an alert when you need to empty the bin.

I think for this price if they are in fact in like new / New condition is all you really need. I think for a big house having the self emptying and all the new bells and whistles for maping it would be nice to hav. But its not something you really need in 1k sqft. The robot will not have to recharge before it finishes so it wont need to know where to go back to, how ever this roomba can also do that.

Yeah, not sure either. The same deal posted a month ago got 35 TUs.

I mean it is a dice roll if you get a new unit i guess but you can always return it and just be out of the time it takes to get a refund.

fast track to a ban..Amazon is using an algorithm where it takes into consideration items purchased, return, paid subs, csr calls, good will credits received and other crap we are not privy to. Once you go bellow a certain threshold is ban. Getting banned by Amazon is like returning to the stone age.
