Last time these popped up it was just a used drive. Nothing to refurb on an ssd. People loaded Samsung Magician to see the usage on the drive and it was generally pretty low.
Not too bad. But for 20 more you could get the 870 with a small bump in speed and also brand new.
You would likely never notice the difference, unless you were running synthetic benchmarks on the right motherboard. That doesn't seem worth $20 to me.
Can I throw this in to a usb c ssd enclosure and just use it like a normal external hard drive
Only if you get an enclosure that supports trim on the drive. Otherwise your SSD will progressively slow down with use until reformatted. I've only found a few enclosures from StarTech that support SSD disk trimming. Others may exist, too, but I haven't found any.
