Amazon has the Star Wars Armada: Separatist Alliance Fleet Starter on sale for $66.99. I believe this is about the lowest price it has been, with the normal price being $99. This is only the Separatist fleet, but contains all the essential components one player needs to learn and play the game, including dice, a range ruler, and a maneuver tool.

I had never heard of this until now.
Asmodee, the parent company for FFG, transferred the production of all Star Wars miniature games, late 2020, to Atomic Mass Games. It will be sometime before AMG ramps up into production to continue the Armada line.

This price point is a very good price -- though the Clone Wars line is considerably higher in price than the Galactic Civil War line.

I wonder if FFG is discontinuing this one soon too... that's usually when their stuff goes on sale.

Dang just saw the posts about this being a new line, man its almost 2X the cost of the original armada line. Too rich for my blood, but it looks cool.

What does this mean? The original core set was MSRP $100 for two small rebel ships with one medium imperial ship, + squadrons. If you think about it, maybe it's twice the price, but twice the number of ships.

I am curious are you able to play this with the original core set or is this an entirely new game?

You can play against the original factions, but you can't mix factions in one fleet, i.e. Separatist vs Imperial, or vs Rebels.

Probably cause I didnt look at these sets when they first came out. When I started looking at them they were going for as low as $30ish when on sale.

These starter packs still come with fewer squadrons than the original one and arguably the medium-sized models aren't as large/impressive, although that's irrelevant from a gameplay value standpoint. They aren't twice as expensive, but they're definitely a little bit more costly.

Not a terrible deal at under $70, though.
