It doesn't matter. One outlet will handle the 15A limit. The second is there just for convenience. It doesn't actually allow any more current to be used.

One inlet has no impact on this. Same current, same set of wire, same circuit.

Only significant downside is lack of center screw. Depending how heavy connected cords are and how they pull, I can see the unit working itself loose and exposing the prongs.

Lesser known fact, this is why outlets are installed "upside down." So only the ground is exposed from something touching on top of exposed.

Don't like the fact it doesn't screw in. Gotta be careful with weight on these things as they do tend to pull out from the wall if there is to much weight.

Too bad these don't have the bolt in the middle that screws into the outlet. Sometimes when I try to unplug one cord, I end up unplugging the extender.

I prefer the ones that screw into the wall rather than these.
Too often they will come out of the socket if you pull too hard on a cord or even just touch it slightly.

I've bought ones like this from Costco in a 2 pack... 6 outlets and something like 4 USB ports, but no center screw. I won't buy multi-outlets anymore without the center screw. Once you start loading these things up with plugs, and then go to plug in something like a charger or a sweeper plug, they inevitably start to come out of the wall... since there's no center retaining screw to hold them in. This is a good price on a pack of 4 given what you get (surge protector included)... but not having the center retaining screw is a deal killer for me.

As an FYI, though... for those of you renting a beach house or Airbnb over the summer (or even staying at a hotel), these type of multii-outlets (esp with USB integrated) are nice to bring along to plug in all of your gadgets at whatever rental/vacation home you end up staying at.

A couple of small pieces of double sided mounting tape on the back will keep it in place extremely well. I've almost broken my outlet plates before trying to pry one off after it was mounted with the tape.

Good news - that bottom plastic pin is just a spacer, clip or grind it off and you can plug this into either the top or bottom outlet. Or leave it as is and re-jumper the top and bottom screws on the receptacle itself, or remove the switch and nut the two power leads together. (You turned off the breaker first, right? RIGHT? ). The bad news is, of course, that this doesn't have a hole for the outlet cover screw so it's a little more likely to work loose, and you have to hold the device when you remove a plug - no more yanking it out of the wall from the blender end of the cord.
