What are you talking about, thats just base speed, once you start doing anything intensive it goes upto 3.6ghz (4cores 8threads). The reason is to save power. This laptop lasts awhile unplugged and is pretty powerful for the average user

It comes in a non marking brown box with 2 labels (shipping label and the other label that contain the model and serial numbers).

On the side note, I think these comes with random aftermarket charger. I ordered 2 of these laptops at different time and both came with different charger without the acer brand on it.

I Bought a Brand New one from Microcenter last month for the office last month for around $500.
Just bought 2 of these refurbs last week and got them in today- 1 looks brand new with a manufactor date of June 2020. The other one looks slightly used, a couple skuff marks but nothing major - Manufactor Date of May 2020.
I just bought another one for the office. Great value - I like that it comes with a basic case , a pen and a 2 YEAR warranty. I know its older intel processor but its for our new hires that don't do anything crazy intense.

I got mine yesterday I really like it. I generally buy electronics during the Black Friday season but my laptop died and I needed another one sooner rather than later and am completely content with the purchase. I like the feel of the metal as well and the carrying case

This is a great laptop for the money. I purchased it for my daughter for High School but there would be no issue with using this in college. I work on laptops (as a hobby) and my favorites have always been Acer's generally the reason I work on these is to upgrade them (put in more RAM or a bigger SSD)- I like Acer because it is easy to access many areas with just removing the back. Anyway - with this computer you can't add more RAM- not really a problem though because this isn't a gaming device (although it can do basic gaming), most people won't be loading virtual operating systems and other RAM intensive programs. For about 98% of people 8GB of RAM is just fine -especially for what this is designed for. Most people that think you need more RAM don't even realize that the majority of time you're on a computer RAM utilization is like 3-4 GB (surfing/office type stuff/ video watching...). The processor is pretty efficient battery-wise yet still manages a 7935 Passmark rating which is a pretty decent benchmark. It's a 2-in-1 which is really nice for student type applications, you can use as a regular laptop or as a tablet, put it in tent mode...The laptop does not feel cheap at all. The display is full HD 1080P- it could be brighter, but as long as you're not outside in bright sunlight working, you'll be fine. People are thrown off by Acer thinking it's cheap, but I've owned them all from HP, Dell, Acer, Toshiba, Apple and there can be lemons in every bunch. I've personally had my best luck with Acer stuff though. Really this 2-in-1 laptop is about the best bang for the buck that I have seen in a long time, and School work/Netflix/zoom and all that stuff would be a piece of cake for this to handle.

Received mine on Thursday, came with the protective sleeve and rechargeable stylus. Appears to be brand new as far as no noticeable scratches or other signs of use.

Standard amount of bloat/crapware that is easy to remove. I will primarily be using this for work when traveling, it is replacing a 6 year old heavy & large 15.6" HP laptop. So far I'm very happy with it considering the price, would be tough to find something comparable at this price point. The speakers/sound are also better than I expected.

Bonus points for the thunderbolt port (do not have to bring the bulky charger with me), 360 degree hinge and fingerprint scanner which has worked perfectly so far.

Received mine as well. How's your battery life? I'm only getting 4-5 hours on mine wish it was a little. Love everything else though,
