Just an FYI if anyone is interested in this, you can get the 2.8K 90Hz OLED version on Amazon for $75 more.

2.91lbs seems to be pretty heavy for a 14" swift series. I wish they would bring back the ultra light laptops they used to build in the past. I remember the 15.6" 2.2lb laptop that was so light that it felt fake.

The Acer Swift Edge 16 is only 2.6lbs with an OLED 16in screen. It's pretty amazingly thin and light for such a large awesome display!

Specs are good and fair, but that god awful trackpad isn't. Hope this is better than the 2022 Swift X I paid $800 for.

That edge is a total garbage loud machine. I have never heard a laptop being that noisy with no load. Returned.

Couldn't disagree more. Use it mostly on battery and NEVER hear the fan if it's not plugged in. When plugged in you can also change the profile to limit fan noise.

I've had the Swift Edge for about 6 months and found it to be an excellent LG Gram competitor. Have had lots of Grams (including the Pro 16 with the 3050 - the 2023 IPS version) and find the swift superior overall.

Are these the new iGPU that are comparable somewhat to dGPUs?

That's interesting. I currently own a 2021 LG Gram 15 (11th Gen i5), and a 2022 LG Gram 17 (12th Gen i7, RTX 2050, 32GB). I love both laptops. The Gram 15 is perfect for watching videos as it is super light (2.48 lbs) and the display aspect ratio is 16:9. The Gram 17 is perfect as a workstation for software development, and at a little over 3lbs, it is as light as many "light" 14" ultrabooks.

I haven't tried the Swift Edge yet, but I have bought and returned/sold multiple laptops with OLED panels, and they all give me eye strain compared to the LCD panels on my Grams. That is the only thing keeping me from trying the Swift Edge.

The OLED panels look gorgeous, but once you dim them a bit, the PWM flickering causes eye fatigue. I can really tell when I compare a dimmed OLED panel to an IPS side by side. The moment I look at the IPS, my eyes feel better. I have owned the following OLED laptops: Samsung Galaxy Book Pro (15.6" 1080p 60Hz), Lenovo Thinkbook 14p (14" 2.8k 90Hz), Asus Zenbook (14" 120Hz), LG Gram Style (14" 90Hz), HP Pavillion Plus (14" 120Hz). I have played with a few 16" OLED laptops in stores and noticed PWM flickering at low brightness levels, but haven't owned one of those or used them long enough to notice eye strain. Most OLED panels have no issues above certain brightness levels, and definitely at 100% brightness, but I tend to use laptops in dimly lit areas in addition to brightly lit rooms, so eye fatigue instantly makes them a no go for me.

OLED screens also can have a visible "screen-door" effect when white content is displaying. Sometimes it's very distracting. But wow, movies and games sure look incredible on an OLED.

Yes, that will definitely happen with lower resolution displays like the one on this Acer. I definitely noticed that with the fhd panel on the galaxy book pro. Not an issue with higher resolution panels like 2.8k.
