This same Mini PC (same specs) is $575 on MinisForum website... For those of us not close to a MicroCenter and don't mind waiting a couple weeks for delivery.

Barebone is $351.
(I hearby give Dr. W permission to post my better deal, if they give me credit...)
i know there are people who only buys minisforum from a place that has easy return. but purely from price perspective, it is not that great of a price.

The Ryzen 7 H 255 is a chip from the Hawk Point family that is only available in China. The chip is identical to the older Ryzen 7 8745H...

I would have posted it already, before you commented, had it been in stock. It's out of stock and has been for quite some time now. Thanks, regardless.

i have no issues added it, and as a matter of fact, check out.
Ive had my eye on the UM890 Pro for 1080p gaming not knowing about this cheaper X1-255 model. Thanks.

Here's my personal perspective.
Seen too many UM790 Pro mPCs on the diagnostics bench in front of me to be an advocate, notably as a long-term investment. It's a much older platform, with little to no innovation or improvements.
The AI-X1 on the other hand, after seeing my first one for the first time a week ago, is a huge improvement. Definitely better thought out than their previous platforms. The only issue here is the Ryzen 7 255.
The H 255 (re-badged 8745HS/8745H) isn't an APU officially acknowledged by AMD or directly supported through AGESA. These are basically defective Ryzen 7 260 APUs, with the XDNA NPU unstable @ 16 TOPS, disabled & sold at a discount price on the Chinese market to avoid e-waste.
These require hacked AGESA microcode, similar to engineering samples. The question, "If the NPU was unstable, what additional insufficiencies exist?" 🤔
Besides, the most humorous /questionable/paradoxical aspect of the AI-X1 Ryzen 7 H 255
"If the H 255 doesn't support a XDNA NPU, why does Minisforums persist in calling this an AI-X1?!?"
Definitely something to think about when it comes to product trust.
