Any chance that it is airtight or close to it? Or that it could be augmented to be such?

Screw it. Bought 2 anyway

Is this an even crappier version of Pelican than what Harbor Freight sells as their Apache line of cases?

Reviews seem to indicate the foam is worthless

just the quest 2 not including the controllers or elite strap, yes. I am going to try and finagle the controllers in there but if all else fails still a solid case ill use for something else.

No, these are not up to the higher grade Pelican standards, but these are an AMAZING deal when they're on sale (and I've been waiting for this particular size to go on sale, personally.)

The divider foam is in fact NEARLY worthless if you mean to keep a number of like objects with any real weight to them separated by less then 4 "cubes" (it tears away in cubes about 1x1x1cm in size to fit the shape of what you mean to place in it.) 2.5" Hard Drives tear right through 3-4 cubes space between them after very little jostling. For individual items (I've got a mixer in one with a section torn aware for some relevant audio cables) or equipment where you've got enough depth to better distribute the weight (In my case eight microphones I drop in vertically and a set of about 10 fixed blade knives slotted into the foam in a similar way) these are great.

A lot of cheap cases like this use similar foam, but I've found the quality on these to be superior otherwise, and at this discount (which I haven't seen on any of the case sizes in some time) they're phenomenal if your application allows for the VERY easily compromised foam. I unfortunately can't attest to how weatherproof they really are, but I'd probably trust plenty of my sub-$2k equipment in them in a downpour for a short while.

Picked up 4, one for a small folding knife collection, one for my two primary field recorders and related equipment, and the other two, because...too much of my delicate equipment was destroyed in my last move and I'm in the process of another! Thanks OP, definitely would've missed this otherwise. Rep'd.
