We have lots of smart things but the reasons for this thing aren't compelling enough thus far.

This thing is a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, night light..

We have lots of smart things but the reasons for this thing aren't compelling enough thus far.
You can test and turn of the sound if they go off by mistake through the app. This can be helpful for people with tall ceilings.
If you have a Nest thermostat these can signal to your A/C unit to stop running to not help spread the fire.
You can obviously live without this features but that's pretty much any smart device, you don't really need it.
