Huge "buyer beware" with this drive and other ADATA products. ADATA over the last few months has started engaging in a very shady practice of quietly changing the specs of the product without changing the product info. They send a good version of this drive (with the SM2262EN controller) to reviewers so they get good reviews etc... but the actual product they sell has a slower crappy controller (SM2262G controllers). Basically, if you buy this drive, you're likely going to get a crappy drive and not the 3500/3000 read/write performance advertised. If you want a dirt cheap low performance drive, there are better and cheaper options out there. If you want good performance at a premium price, there are better options out there where you will actually get what you pay for. With this, you don't know what you're going to get, but it will likely be low performance stuff.
Stay away from this product (and any company that engages in this dishonest practice).

Ethics aside, this drive is a lottery, but in worst case you will get product of similar performance to other mid-end drives like Crucial P2, WD SN550 or Samsung 980 (non-pro) which is an OK deal by itself. If you get lucky with components you may get high-end pci-e 3.0 drive for a great price. Recently people been reporting getting an SM2262EN controller with good memory with 1TB, but this is, of course, anecdotal.

It's kind of like they expect getting the swordfish speeds but they are nowhere close.

I see only one recent comment on Amazon that says what you're saying. Even so, it has prime on it and can be returned.
TL;DR: "A report has emerged that Adata has altered its XPG SX8200 Pro again by swapping in SK Hynix flash, making this the fourth known SSD configuration. As before, Adata ships this drive with the same model number as the original SSD. "
I have the non-pro version of this drive (XPG SX8200 1TB) and have run into installing updates. The recommended fix from Microsoft is to install a drive-specific driver from the manufacturer but ADATA hasn't released one.
