Nevermind. It turns out the first code is just to use at Capital One as a "registration" to get the actual Dell code. Thanks! Using on an M17 R4 w/3080...nice.
Work with 3080, but 3070 it was not worked. Don't know why
Thanks OP, I just ordered an m17 r3 w/ 10875h, 32G, 1.5T SSD 300hz and 2080 Super Max-P,
Yesterday I settled with an m17 r4 w/ 10870h,16G, 256G SSD and 144hz,gladly return it for better overall with just $200 difference.
How much did you end up getting the r3 2080 Super for?

$1971 before tax. Performance wise, 2080 max P is within +/-5% of 3070, but I really hate Dell soldered Ram, pay a premium for 32G and save me some extra on SSD replacement is a well trade off.

I tried the coupon it said not for this cart, only can use 699-50 code.
True its actually a good price considering its a brand new alienware release with both Ryzen 5000 and RTX 3000 which are in huge demand. Its somewhat tempting even though its a 3060. I usually only buy alienware if I get a crazy discount on it (like the aw3418dw which I got on sale in 2019 for $510+another $90 cashback, probably my best score on SD in all my years on the site). But considering the state of the desktop GPU market, gaming laptops make more sense so $1500 for this isnt bad
However I just noticed it also has no numpad which kills it for me just like the HP omen. A shame since I was close to impulse buying it.
I'm torn about this one, only because of the GPU shortage these days.
I'm usually the same as you, my best deal was a 17R4 with GTX 1080 for ~$1300 after I got the warranty refund, during the glory days of cashback. I do like how alienware is designed and built, and can't completely fault them for the poor QA that low paid factory workers handle. I had to repaste and repad my R4 5 times but it was perfect afterwards, and I had no trouble opening and reopening it even though it was my first laptop repaste.
I just purchased the Legion 5 Pro with similar specs for $1400 (no tax), confirmed mux switch. It's OOS now but if you Google 82JQ006EUS you can find it and watch for it to be back in stock.
I bought an Inspiron from Dell a couple months ago, and got a 15% off coupon in the mail recently. It's only good until 5/2/21. If any of yall are interested in giving it a try, please PM me.

Yes but that takes it down to 1535 not 1399
