Why the downvotes? This is a good bundle deal. The RT2600ac is normally $200 and the MR2200ac is normally $140. So this is a savings of $50. And from one of the best sellers that there is.

(Side note, this is a great combo, suited for business or residence. I have installed this pairing a couple of times now and had great results. Configuration isn't as easy as some other brands, but fine for any geek.)

I also run this combo, for the last few years. It does work very well, but is really dated in it's design and has limited functionality compared to newer models from competitors. Synology has not come thru with adding VLAN capability to the RT2600AC, for one thing. And there is no sign from them, that a much needed new and improved version is in the pipeline. They seem to not be developing newer models, and with that in mind I would look to a competitor.
I will say the Mesh part does work flawlessly for me, and the whole setup is rock solid. It's just very dated, no sign of something like WiFi 6 or a newer model with greater than Gig speed.

Totally agree with what you've said. It's quite disappointing that Synology hasn't kept up their router products as they do have a ton of potential. I also have both since their launches and really haven't had any issues.

With that, an employee on their forum said that VLAN is coming in SRMv3 that will launch sometime this year. I wish they didn't have one employee working on their software updates...

Agreed. But S*********a has been saying the VLAN enabled firmware is coming for the past year or so. I'll believe when I see it. And also, wait until it's fully debugged by users before I install it. I'd say, another year before it's useable.

I'm amused by your posting... which equates to.... "I appreciate the stability that comes from Synology being cautious about adopting new technologies.... Damn I wish Synology wasn't cautious about adopting new technologies" LOL

Their Wi-Fi gear doesn't have "cutting edge" tech like WI-FI 6... but it's got stability and I'd rather have that.... as would the clients I install gear for.

Synology routers have more common flaws and security issues than any other router manufacture out there, at least its stable, lol. Wish I could source the info, but off the top of my head cant remember the link, its posted somewhere on here on a synology/qnap thread within the last 6 months by me.
