I hear that it is a little more neutral. If you are using Audyssey or room correction I don't have any harshness. It was a little honky without at loud volumes but could be my room. I have an untreated room open to a kitchen and they sound great. I have the 280F, got them years ago for $299 each from frys electronics.

Do you think the upgraded tweeter in the RP-8000F is worth the extra $100?

I have a 9 foot flat ceiling. How would the atmos sound with that?
I've had these for about 3 years now with 9 feet ceiling. If you're like me who's limited to say a 3.1.2 setup with no surrounds, the atmos up firing gives just a little bit more immersion that I miss from not having surrounds.
I grabbed these a week or two ago and am considering another pair. They sound great even with pushing them at 100watts instead of the 300 they can normally be pushed to. I do have the top firing hooked up as well and they are awesome especially for the price. Trying to resist buying another set

How it will sound will vary for each of us.
Keep in mind that design is a "Atmos" alternative.
