Was listed for $599 when it was out of stock. S6 goes on sale $300-400 often. S7 has some CES awards for best product etc.,Thinking which one to get.

Is the self emptying add-on sold separately?

I have the s6 it's about a year old and it's already slowly dying. Suction is terrible even with monthly maintenance, I wouldn't ever spend that much on the s7.

Fwiw I have never owned a robo vac

Judging from reviews, the overall tech seems about halfway to perfection nowadays? Prudent to just wait about another year before splurging on any of these?

Probably too broad a question... but yeah

2nd best purchase ever. Now I never have to get out of my office chair~toilet hybrid. My best purchase was the robot that picks up my delivery using the dog door.

Oh, definitely not. They still have navigation issues and they get stuck on stuff. Especially speaker wires and such, which I have wired out of the way, they somehow catch them and try to mangle them. Good times.
Or, when they get caught in a loop and start running into the same object over and over until it gets out of the loop.

Yeah, we are definitely not anywhere near perfection. But, the ability to have a vacuumed house with a pet makes it worth the imperfections

I love my s5. No issues and I've had it for probably two years now.

I'm told that in a short while it will malfunction and just roll about one foot back and forth saying "Your floor is ::wham:: now clean! Your floor ::wham:: Your floor is now clean!"

I have both an S5 and an S6 max. S5 has worked much better. Two things about my S6 that drive me crazy - the arm brush keeps getting tangled in my low-pile carpet (I have to cut it off) and it struggles mightily with my transitions from carpet to hardwood.

Have had 3 robo vacs
1. Original xiaomi
2. Deebot 920 or something
3. Wyze

All have lidar, because without that, it's pointless unless you have a bare square room.

I've always felt the mopping function is more of a gimmick than anything so have yet to purchase one that does that.

Has mopping got to a point where it really really works or is it just cycling dirty water across your flor to make you feel good?

This is what I'm waiting to learn about regarding the s7. If the mopping feature seems to be actually useful it's a no brainer. I have my doubts.

I purchased an ECOVACS T8+ during Black Friday. Although it has some mapping issues,I never regret purchasing it. best product on the planet will be ECOVACS N9+ which is coming soon. Strongly recommend wait for this revolutionary product.
I've gone through 5 replacements total of two diff ECOVACSHOME models, the ozmo 920 and the older white one I can't remember.

Geez they're among the best at Navi, but always have some sort of issue down the road
