Here are some unadvertised specials that I found at my local Aldi's, although availability and prices might be different at your local store. YMWV

The first three items are at $.49 - less than half a buck.

A box of 1 dozen large Goldhen eggs - Limit 6 boxes and yes, on sale for $.49 a box
A review/advertisement of Goldhen eggs can be found at https://www.aldireviewer.com/goldhen-eggs/

The next two items look like clearance sales to me:

4 rolls of Snow Soft TP - Total 123.8 sq ft. for $.49
Average quality of soft 2 ply at an amazing price of .396 cent/sq. ft

1 quart of Envirocleanse Antibacterial Disinfectant- Bleach Free
Use for cleaning of hard non-porous surfaces

Finally, a 1 lb. jar of Southern Grove Peanuts at $1.49

Aldi's does have a delivery option and curbside pickup if you register with them, but I'm not familiar with how this works. I think, although I might be wrong, that the sale prices may only be in-store.

If you have an Aldi's near you and never go there, they also have good prices on bread, peanut butter, and other items. I like their Hummus ($1.95 for 10 oz of Roasted Red Pepper or Significantly Spicy), Cottage Cheese ($1.59 for 24 oz.) and Sparkling Water ($.55 for 1 qt.)

Unfortunately NYC area prices are high. Milk over $4 gal, eggs usu. $2 dozen & up depending on size. I have Aldi need me but parking is a nightmare.

Jeez. Eggs are usually 50-80 cents here in NW IL.

Chicken is always 99c a lb. I love our Aldi.

I don't envy the city life or prices. I ride my e-bike to our Aldi, it's 5 min away, prob 1.5 miles. Park it next to the carts by the camera, don't bother locking it when I am in and out of stores so quick around here.

The couple of times a year I have to go to the city (Chicago) for a few days, I remember why I enjoy living in flyover country.

To each their own however.

I don't mind paying $3 a dozen when I can go drive 10 minutes away from the house and see the chickens running around. The egg shells are different shades of tan white blue and green. The yolks are a darker yellow color and stand up really high compared to what you would buy in a store. They're not refrigerated when I get them. Just have to remember to bring back the empty egg cartons.
As far as Aldi's goes alfredo sauce in the jar is really good and thick but a lot of times it's sold out, they can't keep it on the shelf. Pineapples are usually $1.49 more or less. Organic bananas are cheap. Organic celery hearts are $2 for two to make celery juice. Tzatziki dip and blue organic corn chips, yum. Those mini kegs of beer are nice but I think that's a seasonal item. East Central Florida.

My Aldi is 4 miles away so I ride my bike when I go there. There is also a Costco but they don't have any good deals compared to my local supermarkets. I usually just check my local supermarket flyers and buy whatever is the cheapest that week. This week at Northshore Farms supermarket has extra large eggs for .99 a dozen. I bought 3 doz last fri & today I will stock up on some more.

They just opened a bigger Aldi's in Palm Coast and they don't have organic anything, not even strawberries or celery! I guess I'm driving farther to the smaller one. So strange!

What's your salary in flyover country? Would it be double in chitown? I'd rather earn 100k in chitown and pay $4 gallon milk than earn 50k in flyover and pay $1 gallon milk. Much easier to spend less than earn more.

I stopped shopping at Aldi when we got a Lidl that was a few miles closer. Eggs are always under a dollar (large 89 cents, extra large 99 cents)
It is also area based. I only have one lidl near by, so I can not compare price. But aldi do have different price for different store. I have 2 Aldis within 5 miles from my house, one of them always at least 10% less then another for the same item. Even weekly ads price are different for those 2 stores. And lidl price are always between those 2 aldis. So, lidl may or may not have lower price for all areas.

I do appreciate op's post, but I have to agree that aldi deals are useless.

Still the cheapest of my local stores, but I miss the 79 or 99 cents.

The post says $.49 for eggs. I've never seen them that low.

I bought eggs at Aldi for $0.13 several years ago once. The next week they raised the price to $0.30 and I balked!

I couldn't resist posting: on Monday, I went by my local Aldi (Oxnard, CA) and checked the egg prices: 99 cents for a dozen eggs. Not as good as the OP, so never mind, I was going to get strawberries (1.30 per pound). I took a look at the cage free and pasture raised eggs. Pasture raised eggs were 25 cents per dozen. Sell by date is May 3, so I bought three dozen.

They last past the sell by date but thanks, OP for putting me in the frame of mind to check egg prices on my (I wish) daily walk!

Also, clearly it pays to check prices just in case the manager is clearing stuff out!

I work a remote IT specialist job (Install Servers for VA and Govt mostly). I might get a small (10% maybe) COLA adjustment to move, but probably wouldn't be worth it. A house the size of mine would cost 400+k in the burbs vs 40k here. My salary is good and competitive with what you'd expect in mid-size cities.

The thread started with eggs and tp. Proceeds discussing economics of various Aldi store pricing and how, compares Aldi and lidl, european food standard to that of American, why big box stores aren't pricing well when compared to european grocery stores, uk enters the chat and leaves and then starts randomly talking about people wages.

Their Simply Nature milk packaging is so similar to Horizon Organic. Anyone knows where it is sourced from?
