In my eyes, it is an inferior version in the OG NR200(P) V1 as the draw was that you do not need a GPU Riser cable and you can mount the GPU horizontally on the motherboard. If you are looking at Small Form Factor (SFF) cases and are okay with using a riser cable, there are many great options out there. This case is relatively big vs other options as well.

If you want to vertically mount your GPU, this is better than the P V1 as you are able to use a top mounted AIO. On the OG, you have to side mount (or bottom mount) an AIO but you can't side mount an AIO if using a vertically mounted GPU. This also comes with Gen 4 Riser vs Gen 3 Riser on the P V1.

If you want this case without the AIO and PSU, look at the NR200 V2.

Notes: This appears to be Cooler Master's new NR200P V2 case if you plan on looking this up. The NR200P MAX version comes with a tempered glass side panel, AIO, and PSU. The P variant comes with the tempered glass side panel. There is most likely going to be a NR200 V2 base (or P) model that will go for ~$100 (?).

In my eyes, it is an inferior version in the NR200(P) V1 as the draw was that you do not need a GPU Riser cable and you can mount the GPU directly onto the motherboard. If you are looking at Small Form Factor (SFF) cases and are happy to use a riser cable, there are so many great options out there. This case is relatively big vs other options as well.

This is probably better than the V1 for those that wanted to use the riser. The included riser cable is also a Gen 4 in the V2 vs the Gen 3 in the V1.
Just a quick timeline for those reading:
  • Cooler Master NR200/NR200P (Released 2020) - the universally received ITX case which garnered much support and a great entry to ITX builds. Allows both traditional in-slot GPU horizontal or vertical GPU configuration with riser. The "P" version comes with a riser included + additional tempered glass panel.
  • Cooler Master NR200P Max (Released 2021) - this one is a mixed bag, but great for those who wanted to do vertical GPU mount anyway. Was great for those who needed a barebones solution, since it automatically included the Cooler Master ML280L 280mm AIO Cooler + the Cooler Master V850 850W SFX Power Supply. Note that there is no traditional "horizontal" GPU configuration.
  • Cooler Master NR200P V2 (Released 2024) - This is based off of the NR200P Max design ("forced" vertical GPU configuration). Does not include Cooler or PSU.

I assume originally they were going to cancel the beloved NR200 V1, but Cooler Master announced that both products will live together.

Any recommendation on components using this case for Autodesk CAD/Blender and Adobe Photoshop work?

Wow - this is really expensive. I have 2 builds using a Hyte Revolt 3 that i have been really happy with and spend i think around $100-150 including a 750w power supply. This one also looks much bigger - what am I missing here?

Agreed. To those that think this is a slick deal, how is that so? I'm guessing it's only slick if you're really into a mini itx build hobby...

And even then, I think it's slick to not go mini itx then... $300 for a case and the components just don't add up to being slick to me, just my 2 cents that I know will end up being flamed

This case comes in a bundle with 280mm AIO with custom tubing to make it super easy, a 850w 80+ Gold PSU, and gen 4 pcie riser card so 4 items for $301 aint bad. This case first launch at $450 but you can usually find it around $350-400 so this is a great price for someones first step into SFF PC. I built a new PC for my bday at the beginning of the year and this is the case I went with. I love my lil beast of a PC [ibb.co].
