For those just interested in the video card:

If you go with the fewest options with the 3060, the total comes to $1040.

The 3060 alone is selling for around $900 on eBay.

FYI: the 5600G is a new cpu with integrated graphics and should not be confused with 5600X. Not saying that is bad, but do homework as there are other differences too that may impact your performance expectations.

Not going to help. I'm a dealer and supply is getting worse not better. I had a small but steady stream of cards coming in from my distributors but the well has dried everywhere in the last week. All of my backorders that were due in April have been pushed to August and September and I've been told ever order will only be partially filled. Even cards not god for mining are on backorders 1030's, 1650's, etc. Memory has already doubled since last year, drives will be next. Motherboards are getting short as well. Most Ryzens I have to have shipped from Korea. US distributors have nothing in stock but Threadrippers and a smattering of last gen.

Not this HP one, but I flashed it on my evga 3060. Hashes at 46mh/s now. 2 caveats tho:

1- has to be the only card in the rig
2- has to be directly installed in a PCIe x16 slot (no risers).

Well for number one, you can have a bunch of 3060s in PCIe x16 slots and I think it'll still work, but not many boards support more than 2-3 cards like that.

To add to ards post, you can still use this PC after removing the 3060. The 5600 processor is a APU (accelerated processing unit) which means there is an integrated graphics processor on the CPU.
If just using APU as graphic processor, what monitor does they support? 720P?

Isnt Nvidia put limitations on this paper launched RTX 3060 for crypto mining? Meaning, if you mine ETH using RTX 3060, the hashrate will be halved? To drive away miners.

yes ram is very easy to upgrade by your self BUT , there are only 2 slots in this PC and they are both filled with 4 gig sticks, so you can't just upgrade one, you have to buy a 2 stick kit

Got it. Thank you so much. I can either buy two 8GB sticks or two 16GB sticks. Is that correct ?

Yes, and thanks for clarifying that so that people can understand the difference,

5600G is basically based on Cezanne die, same as the mobile Ryzen chips like 5600H or 5800H.
  • It has 16MB L3 Cache vs 32MB in 5600X
  • It has only PCIe Gen 3 support, not PCIe Gen 4.
  • It has VEGA 7 Integrated Graphics running at 1900 MHz. The performance should be slightly higher than a Nvidia MX250 Mobile chip
I actually like this, because in addition to needing a GPU for a new workstation, I'm trying to build a Freenas, and with an APU I can dedicate an x16 slot to a 10 gig ethernet card or a SAS controller instead of a GPU. Based on benchmarks I've seen, the 5600G does a respectable job vs. the 5600X.
