This ThinkPad is mediocre in almost every way except two.
-The screen is OK, but contrast ratios and brightness are just adequate.
-The "10th generation cpu" is really a Comet Lake Chip which uses 9th generation lithography, 9th generation microcode, and 9th generation graphics. In other words, only Intel marketing think this is a true 10th generation like Ice Lake. Translation: this is one of the slower CPU performances and iGPU graphics are horrible.
-Sound is adequte but not class leading
-Webcam is adequate but not class leading
-battery life is on the low end of adequate
-Build quality is adequate with a metal lid and plastic body. The lid is an absolute fingerprint magnet.
-No Thunderbolt 3 ports
-RAM is no longer upgradeable
-Webcam privacy switch is nice, but feels cheap and flimsy
-Trackpad is adequate
-Bezels at the top and bottom of the screen are large (the bottom bezel is huge)
In fact, in only 2 ways is this laptop is better than the rest. The keyboard is really good and the garaged stylus is awesome. That's it.
Unfortunately, Lenovo ThinkPads and Microsoft Windows 2004 (May 2020 and August 2020 editions) do not get along, so as of this writing in Nov 2020, the most recent version of Windows installed by Windows update is v1909 from Nov 2019 OVER A YEAR AGO.
So if you want a completely mediocre device with outdated processor that has a nice keyboard and garaged stylus but won't get Windows updates, you will probalby enjoy this ThinkPad. For literally everyone else please consider another model.

No, I mean is the review you referenced even for this model, or are you just commenting on the cpu?
I'm not the original poster of that, but the CPU part is right. I'd avoid the U series CPUs from Intel at all costs these days. G series intel or Ryzen

Are you saying that this review gets it all wrong?
"Adaptix is a feature new to not just Comet Lake, but 10th-gen CPUs in general, so right now this also includes Ice Lake. It's a new version of Intel's dynamic tuning technology that takes turbo boosts a step further than we've seen previously in a mobile form factor."'

I am no expert and I understand many reviews are really just propaganda for the companies who pay them to write.
One of the I7' gen 10 has 6 cores and thus is much faster but this one has four cores.
Overall the test show about a 5% improvement over gen 8. So not a whole lot of improvement so gen 8 or gen 10 not all that much of a difference.
The 11th gen i5 (not to mention Ryzen) are a solid 30-40% faster than the 10th gen U. It doesn't make a lot of sense to get something this bad for as expensive as it is.

Wish they had put a cheap gpu in it. I agree with you. Wait and it should not take long to get gen 11 at this price. Ryzen 7 I have seen at this price range.

Been purchasing Thinkpad series for work exclusively and though there were issues earlier with the Win 10 Pro v2004, it's been good since upgrading to v20H2. I don't see a reason to stay on v1909 and the laptops that I have been getting comes preinstalled with v2004 if not v20H2.
Spec wise, along with this L13, Lenovo had phased out several other series of this processor laptops as well as they moved to the newer 10th Gen and 11th Gen processors.
E and L are just slight improvements over the consumer grade laptops to get classified as entry-level business laptops, which is good for some who don't want to splurge on X1/T/X etc.

The reviews were lukewarm at best.

Think of it as a Lenovo knock off of the classic Thinkpad.
