Premium or aka 91 octane are for high compression vehicles and it has nothing to do with having more detergent in cleaning your engine. The truth is, it is harder to burn a premium or high octane gas because they are design that they won't do premature detonation. If your car doesn't require this and did not mention it in your gas cap or manual, don't use it or you're just burning your money.

Note, some cars with both port and direct injection are usually high compression vehicles that are able to use non-premium and premium... and yes, there is power difference because the car computer (ECU/ECM) will advance timings. Some force induction vehicles has similar effect too. Though there's power difference, high octane doesn't have to have more detergent aka Techron or Vpower or whatever marketing gimmick they call them.

That's some blatant misinformation right there. Fuel works much in the way oil does, there is a base oil/fuel that these companies purchase from the refineries (which does mostly all come from the same plants), but then the individual companies further refine with their process, add their additives and top treat it before sending to their fuel stations.

Further, there is an ASTM test known as the IVD and one purpose it has is to run what's known as a dirty up clean up test. It runs a test with base fuel and no additive, then inspects the engine for deposits and other harmful effects. Next it runs whatever fuel to be evaluated through it and inspects again when it completes. However much improvement is measured is the metric for quality level of that gasoline.

And lastly, for whatever reason, these companies do put more of their additives in their "premium" fuel versus regular. It's good practice to run it in your vehicle every once in awhile for that reason but if your vehicle requires premium, you need to run it. Its chief reason anyway is to control the explosion better and with a high compression engine, it needs to be there to mitigate detonation or serious damage will occur.

I'm not speaking from internet research, I've worked in this industry for decades.

Never felt any difference after using it. Maybe because I always use Shell or Chevron gas.

In for 3. Will send in proof of shipping/receipt for $12 rebate attempt which would bring the final price to $14 for three, or about the same as the 10oz. regular price.

Not really needed if you use top tier fuel such as BP, Shell and Chevron.

The only thing I ever felt a difference after using was AT-100 intake cleaner but I have a direct fuel injected engine. Another product that I have used on a different non-dfi vehicle is motorkote upper cylinder treatment. It improved my gas mileage. Really good stuff. A bottle of the Motorkote is good for 15 full tanks with a 20gallon tank.

Not slick. It was $2-$3 it was on sale at advance last time I purchase. It was 20 oz. bottles. I purchase it before new year but used it last week. I can't tell the difference honestly but used it because was really cheap. Personally Wouldn't buy at this price.

We just use Chevron or Shell gasoline in our cars. It already contains the additives.

Well I do know it has the top tier logo at the Costco gas pumps so that means it's at least not cheap quality gas but not sure how it stacks up against chevron or shell. For the price I'm willing to give this product a try to improve mpg.

Usually considered top tiered gasoline. Never had a problem and its usually the cheapest in an area. I sometimes fill in my gas tank with their premium gas once in a while.

I can't speak for Shell but Chevron already has Techron mixed in with their gas so no need to buy this concentrate

I use it as the seasons change because I was told the fuel at the pump changes from time to time.

I used to use Speedway gas because it was close to my house; the Shell was a bit further. But I recently started running in to some jitters/shaking on startup for the past few months and I continued to use Speedway gas.

Switched to Shell for the most recent fill up and also used Techron prior to filling up and it's mostly gone away. I'm taking it in to a mechanic but it's odd that it stopped after driving about 10 miles on Shell gas and the Techron.

I don't know how well it works because I also got my engine walnut blasted last November and it was pretty bad. The car is 12 years old and had a mix of Speedway and Shell gas, depending on if I filled up close to home or close to work.

At a few bucks a pop and 2-4 times a year, it doesn't hurt. I only started using Techron a few times a year since 2018 so maybe not too long of a sample size. Better quality gas probably goes a long way than Techron, I feel.
