But when I read the T&C of the program it says:
Walgreens Cash rewards for in-store purchases will be awarded to the Member's account 3-5 days after purchase.
I couldn't find an effective date nor an expiration date on the Dashboard. Are the CR available immediately? Do they expire?

Seriously? You can only use CR on Walgreens branded products? I can't use my 98¢ on a package of Skittles?

You're in for a ride if you stick with it.
Not sure what you clicked on that gave you such limited info but cash rewards can be used on pretty much everything. Exclusions are prescriptions, liquor, tobacco, stamps, dairy, and a few others I can't recall.
But you do have to wait until you have at least $1 to spend.
You can redeem in increments of $1-$5, $10, $20, and $50.
Max $100 per day.
As for when your rewards show up, it will usually be immediately viewable at the bottom of your receipt. Occasionally the 3-5 day stuff will print there instead but the next transaction will usually show those rewards included.
I believe there's a thread here somwhere for wags info. Not sure how updated it is.
I created an account an hour before shopping yesterday.
I wasn't trying to earn anything so I was surprised when my receipt said I had 98¢.
It seems like a shame to waste it since I'm so close to $1 but it's not "found" money if I have to make an unnecessary purchase to earn it.
How long do I have to reach $1 before the 98¢ goes poof?
I'm not sticking with it.
If I make one more purchase I'll have $1xx.
Do I have to wait or can I spend the $1 on my next transaction?
I presume that I have to spend it on something that's more than $1.
Getting 40 Crest at RA's tomorrow. That's more fun.
