After 20 years using the E series, I bought this. It worked fine for two months then suddenly died. It would just hum without moving. Philips replaced it promptly under warranty, but the new one died after two days. It vibrates slightly, but not enough to clean. I wonder how many new buyers think the slight vibration is normal and effective.

So this is not a good Philips toothbrush? I'm currently using the 5300 and it has served me and my partner well but we wanted to get another one.

i have this one, very good, been using it for 3 years now.

you guys both use 1 base? so everyday y'all switch out the brush head 4 times?

how has the securing rod been holding up with this removing/clicking on so often?

Good to know. Any significant difference from the 5300?

Yes, we use 1 base and switch heads 4 times/day. We've been using it for about 4 months now and I haven't seen any degradation on the securing rod but it is what's worrying me Smilie

has the same 62000 movement/min, the most important part.

for 35$ alone worth not changing head all the time

I agree. The only problem I'm seeing is that the 4100 does not have an included travel case. Any thoughts on that?

Toothpaste can accumulate in the gap between the head and the body and make the vibration duller. Make sure to remove the head and clean every few days. Been working fine for 3 years.

Thanks! This style is absolutely worth it over the cheaper Sonicare with the large rounded bottom to the brush heads

I bought this a year and a half ago. It has held up well, and I have been VERY pleased with it. I have a permanent bottom retainer, and cleaning under it has always been a challenge. This cleans so much better than I could ever do with a manual toothbrush.

My only complaint is the price of the brush heads... But hey, still very worth it!

Just making sure, you know that's a feature that you have to bypass right? The brushes start out weak and ramp up over 3-4 weeks.

Good price if you need now but this model will probably be cheaper toward the end of the year based on last year's sale prices.
