Opened up the battery to find LG HE2 cells. These are decent cells and rated for 15A discharge and 2500MAH down to 2.0v (oddly low)
I sent the item back, told them what I found out, and asked about why those cells.
I recently purchased a manufactured refurb, opened up the battery pack, and found HE4 cells.
These cells are much better. 2500 MAH @ 20A down to 2.5v. Ran the vacuum on turbo for about 10 minutes, and the battery was 115 and the connector was 125.
I don't know if my first was an early production model and they switched cells of if they remanufactured packs use the HE4 cells.
This LG is probably better than your old V6. But it's not better than a Dyson v11 or Outsize or V15. Its performance is about on par with a v10 - with some features that could push it over the v10 if they're important to you. It's got a really great stand and two batteries. It's got a telescoping wand. But if you want the best suction, you'd be better off with a v11 or v15. (Though the LG is well above average there.)
For the money though (with the warranty) this is a fairly good deal. You'll see refurb v10's for about this price but won't have two batteries.

This is similar, but has a mopping function instead of bare floor. Just picked it up on Saturday, looks nice but didn't have a chance to use yet. It was $360 near me and cheaper at other stores (someone said $250 in another thread). Use Brickseek.
Key differences is mopping functionality instead of bare floor cleaner. 2 batteries at a higher capacity, dust bin is 3x the size with the ability to "kompress" (lol) the dust bin by smushing it together, better suction power, and it's not a refurb so you know the battery health is equal or better! I'm still on the lookout for the bare floor head because I need it at the end of the day!

everywhere around me at $700
Personally, I think these vacuum companies (looking @ you Dyson) like to release 5+ versions of the same model with slight nuances to confuse/trick the consumer and also cut down on price-matching other stores, etc.
It's all a game, but unless you're hell-bent on getting the hard-floor cleaner, then I would say my link might be a better purchase. Again, the one i linked will still clean hardwood, just not as efficiently as the OP. It's an extra $100, but I think it's worth it solely to avoid refurbs and bad batteries.

thanks for more details. if my lowes had it for $360 i def would get it over this, refurb or not, but for being the better(?) unit.

Like Apple, I suspect they are selling new machines at a refurbished status.
