However, one should know that Mi products constantly sending and storing the data back to their servers in China.
Hear me out, I'm not trying to indulge into scare or blame tactics.
The unit would not work without internet access (it would clean with manual button press but disregard previous scheduled cleanings). You can't connect/ control it over wifi without internet access. It can only store floor map on the server and not locally. If you block unit's MAC address on the router it would stop working.
I've moved and tried setting up with the new network - unfortunately doesn't work with new Wave2 "smart" router by spectrum. It could connect to 2.4ghz band. During wifi setup it asks to allow location sharing or it won't connect to wifi (🤷🏼 ♂️).
I was okay with these set backs but feel people should take it into consideration.

I bought the S6 Pure for $379, and it's a great deal. The S6 is a better-featured unit; the S6 Pure is a cost-down. I think the S6 Pure is already fantastic. The iPhone app works really well, the cleaning is great on our hardwood floors and the mapping works really well. The first floor of our home has 600 sq feet of cleaning area (that's actual cleaning area, not the rough square footage). This is living room, dining room, kitchen, TV room, office and bathroom. It cleans every inch in just under an hour. No more dog hair. Wonderful.
