Thanks for posting this! After using a decade old Roomba, I finally bit on this one to upgrade. I have two dogs that love jumping in the pool, then the yard, then roaming the hardwood floors.

While I understand the mopping function has limitations, I am hoping this can help with the never-ending dirt under my feet.

Anyone have experience with the Walmart extended warranty? Is that something to consider versus buying from Amazon?

I think irobot is same, when no internet, you need to push the button to make it work?

I have the S5 and it's a fantastic unit.
However, one should know that Mi products constantly sending and storing the data back to their servers in China.
Hear me out, I'm not trying to indulge into scare or blame tactics.
The unit would not work without internet access (it would clean with manual button press but disregard previous scheduled cleanings). You can't connect/ control it over wifi without internet access. It can only store floor map on the server and not locally. If you block unit's MAC address on the router it would stop working.
I've moved and tried setting up with the new network - unfortunately doesn't work with new Wave2 "smart" router by spectrum. It could connect to 2.4ghz band. During wifi setup it asks to allow location sharing or it won't connect to wifi (🤷🏼 ♂️).

I was okay with these set backs but feel people should take it into consideration.
Thanks for the very well reasoned, non-alarmist comment. Pretty rare on this site now.

The s6 is a nice robot which I used for some time. You won't be disappointed.
I did however end up keeping the s5 max. I'm not sure if there is much of a difference. The s5 max has auto water dispenser compared to s6 but for most uses the auto probably doesn't matter.

Lots of reviews about horrible customer service. Making me think twice about purchasing this.

Hardwood floor and tiles this is good if using for carpets or rugs with pattern stay away

I tried s6 s5 and debbot t8 issue with plush carpet and Persian rugs

Went with i7+ with auto bin awesome works great for carpets and rugs took about 5 runs to map correctly never look back

Bought s9 for carpet and wood upstairs Cost a lot more but I would stick with i7 +

Also bought jet m6 50% off Facebook omg best mopping feature love it back and forth compare to s6 leaves streaks and only moves forward

So if you can pay little more or wait I highly recommend irobot i7+ and jet m6

Again if you on budget s6 is good all in one package but my personal experience I was very disappointed

I have the white one from Amazon sales. It is a very good Vac. I set it to daily clean the community space of the house at night when we are in bed. I used to use the mopping feature, but after a few weeks, I stopped. It is inconvenient that you will have to fill the water tank and empty it. But the real issue is the mop doesn't clean as well as a manual mop stick. All it does is dragging the damped mop attachment across the floor. Also it is not recommended to put anything in the tank besides water by the manual. I prefer to mop with some cleaning agent. So now, I just used the vac feature daily + manual mop stick when needed during the week. Overall, I would still recommend it but don't buy it for the mop

The Walmart warranty is provided through Allstate, same company that provides coverage for square trade…. Not sure why they don't use the same branding but they have a pretty good reputation

What's the difference between this and cheaper iRobot from Costco like this?

iRobot Roomba i4 (4150) Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum https://www.costco.com/irobot-roo...91438.html

Can they both do the same job and last just as long but the more you pay the better the performance?

A lot of time Roborock has coupon codes for their vacuums that are applied at checkout. So the actual sale price does not change thus scraping sites like 3camels does not show that the price is actually lower. it's always good to search the product here on slick deals as well to see what it's had previously been listed at.

I have the s5 max and am very happy with it. In my opinion it is the best vacuum as I have tried lots of them (Samsung, iRobot, Neato). The Neato couldn't even make it through the mapping phase without getting stuck on plush area rugs. The iRobot has great navigation but feels more like a sweeper than a vacuum. The old Samsung was great but the new ones are just dumb. I bought the extended warranty from Amazon thinking it would break in a year and it has had zero issues thus far (just over 14 months) after 1200 cycles and 330k ft2. It has only gotten stuck a handful of times. I wasn't expecting much out of the mop but use it frequently for quick clean ups around the house. I highly recommend the roborocks despite the Chinese data part.

I have the S6, it's the first robot vacuum I've owned. I like it! Easy to set up, app is pretty user friendly, mop function is decent. Mop is like a wiping off the floor with a wet cloth instead of a scrub with an actual mop, but the cloth gets quite dirty. No-go zones are easy to set up for both vacuum and mop functions. It's not too loud. Only complaint is that I wish there was a notification for when the water tank was getting low so it wouldn't run out and continue without water.
