Thanks for the info. I have a local dealer, 12 year warranty, but returns require a 30% restock fee. Price for embodys in the 1k range.

Just pulled the trigger - 891 + tax ... got size B, standard tilt, height adjustable arms, SL posture fit, carpet casters. Might not be the cheapest ever but 23.5% off is pretty slick and with everyone WFH now so much, it's my investment for me. Had one at my last job and loved it... Thanks Op! PeaceSmilie

Probably refurbished padding. Not really an issue with a chair like the Aeron with mesh seating surface or the Humanscale Freedom with gel seat, but big problem with Steelcase Leap or other chairs with foam padding.

Madison's response? Submit a warranty claim. Again, not the best.
I just bought (and returned) a chair from Madison. They advertised their chairs as NEW Open Box. I received an Aeron that made lots of noise, one of the lever was broken, lots of scratches, and it's basically a used chair where they replaced a few parts such as the arms pads. Their response after I sent them the pics was that this was normal and to be expected. Complete waste of time and their customer service did very little to help. In fact, I emailed two different reps and both were very unhelpful and bit of an attitude as well as if I'm being unreasonable in my expectations. Stay away from Madison!

most of the chairs on the website looks like the original version which is still a fantastic design.

there are a couple of the new design but they Limited in Which types of lumbar support Madison offers

price with options are not as good as cort. where you got executive aeron chair for about 500 or something (that's with Size B, with tilt limiter and site angle, fully adjustable arms)

remember aeron without options are like BMW without options. you got nothing in the starndard trim. you needs options like back support, arm adjustment, tilt limiter.

My aeron is 20 years old without any issues, though my son uses it in his gaming station now. I switched to embody about 10 years ago and think its a little more comfy. HM stuff lasts forever...
