Yes the single most popular and sought after ergonomic chair "sucks". Seems more likely that maybe its user error and you are the one sucking in this scenario.
Where's your proof that it's the best selling chair or was that a blanket comment from an armchair quarterback? Cite your reference. Otherwise...sheet it! πŸ˜†

So I was researching for a replacement chair to replace my fancy leather and mahogany wood executive chair that lasted over a decade. But that thing killed my back and I didn't realize it until lately. The Aeron is legendary for a reason. BUT you need to get the right size for your body. There are 3 sizes, A, B and C. The average adults will fit in a size B and it's the most common size. Now you need to get adjusted to sitting in an Aeron and it could take up to a month for your body to adapt to the new sitting position and the mesh materials. At first you will feel pain and discomfort on your thighs after sitting in it for about an hour. You need to adjust the high of the chair and sitting position according to HM's instructions in order to prevent discomfort. Some people will never get used to the Aeron chair and will have to return it. But for me, it has worked out well and I can literally bend over and pick up something on the floor after using the Aeron chair for a few days where I could not before! This chair will correct your posture and make you sit "the correct way". I would recommend it to those that want to improve their posture and want to sit in something that will not be detrimental to your back over time. The quality is solid and I can why HM offers such a long warranty on the Aeron chairs. It's heavy and built like a tank. The newer version called the "Remastered" is the one that is in this deal.

I was fortunate to get one off of Craiglist's from a gentleman that sells only Aeron chairs. He sells the fully loaded Classic model for $275 which is the cheapest that I could find right now due to high demand. He has a selection of about 15 Classic model chairs with various features that he gets from his partner. They are lightly used and in mint condition so I did not even bother to counter offer his prices. If you live in the NYC area and would like to get one of the Aeron Classic models and can drive to Long Island area to pick it up from this gentleman then I would gladly give you his personal info. The guy is awesome to deal with and all the chairs that I saw were mint condition. Just trying to help my fellow SDers out and refer some business to this guy because my buying experience with him was overwhelmingly positive. Cheers!

People will not have a second thought about spending that much for on a couch they sit in for a hour or to a day and yet are upset if a chair designed to be sat in for 8 hours every day and be comfortable for a decade is the same price. I don't get it.
You are absolutely on point I am used to Staples $99 leather chair Smilie

No real need for proof .....but if you go to majority of higher-end offices many of them do use aeron chairs. Only reason I bought one used on Craigslist was because I used it for 5 years when I used to work corporate. It is very customizable but it's only worth it if you value super comfortable chair. Nothing is perfect for everyone but the consensus is that this is a fantastic chair for majority of the people out there

Never invest in a chair like this until you sit in it. Everyone is different. I hate the aeron, but love the embody. My wife hates my embody, and lives her cheap aeron knockoff. Find a local dealer and plant your butt in some chairs. Decide after that.
this is true for options as well.

I have a mirra 2, and at 6 220lbs, a little big for it. The front of the frame digs into my thighs a bit too much.

I thought I'd get the mirra 2 with the adjustable depth base... Almost ordered it, but went to a DWR store and sat on one with that option.

The adjustable depth base moves the front support down, and has the mesh on rolled over the top... Problem is that the mesh is no longer as tight, so I sink deeper into the chair and then the sides dig into my legs.

So I suggest sitting before buying, or buy direct from HM, because they allow returns.

Bought mine last sale, no issues whatsoever... after upgrades, was almost 1k - CB, and bought cheap (toe killer) rollerblade wheels from Amzn.

Is it sturdy enough to have sex on it?
That probably depends. Are we talking 5-4 110 lbs? Or are we talking "Shallow Hall" stuff?

Had this chair for the past 6 years and it is great! The mesh keeps me cool and comfortable without the sag. The lumbar support is actually functional unlike some others out there. Upgraded to some roller blade wheels on Amazon for smoother roll.

Ok the Size B has 3 different length. When I visited the Herman Miller flagship in NYC, they told me there is only one height for the size B. Anyone has any input on the length of the back rest?
