Man this reeks of desperation!
THIS DEAL DOES NOT WORK WITH SD
It says "must present this email" right next to the code. So plan on that. And yes, the code is unique to each rewards member.
From reading the terms, the language looks to me like the required $10 purchase is just the normal monthly purchase required. And it can be done at any time during the month as usual. This is unlike some of the deals OD has where you need to purchase and recycle in the same transaction.

The cart recycle unique code appears to be for ordering $10+ online.

It says "More deals await ..." and then below is an image of a new HP ink cartridge box, and it says: "$5 Back in Rewards for ink and toner recycling, in store only. Must present this email. Details Below. Coupon Code #################"
Also based on my email, I completely disagree with your interpretation about $10 online. My email just has the same standard language they always use with ink recycling. Nothing at all different other than the $5.
For my email, the 30% back on $200 HP Toner is online only, so again completely different vs. what you are reporting.
So maybe the emails are different. Be prepared to read.

The emails are different. Mine is crystal clear also, but not like yours at all. I'm a reader!
Folks just need to scroll to the bottom of the email & read what offers they have.
They really tried to bury the deal, but glad someone here caught it so we could all check our emails...ymmv, like most anything these days.
