Zenith TV's were definitely not "cheap junk" back in the "old days". It's when the name was taken over by a low end company (and it was no longer a "Zenith" product) that the quality went way downhill!
In the real "old days", Zenith was a very high quality product.
The problem with these "brand names" (like "Westinghouse" for example) is that they're not really a "brand name" product anymore but many people still think that they are!....and end up with junk!
Insofar as Adata SSD's are concerned, they're generally fine (especially if the price is right).
This is exactly right. I spent most of my childhood watching a Zenith Console TV. At one point it took a direct lighting strike and while the repair man was there he was chatting with my grandfather about how they just didn't make them like that anymore. That TV was made in the USA, in Ohio, iirc.

Bought the 1tb mx500, but I'm really concerned about the insane writing the drive does to itself/killing itself. Is this an issue still? Thoughts??

This is definitely going to come in handy on the road away from home, it's perfect to manage extra storage and always a blessing to have when needed
