This is almost too fast for the ps5 and you may not even be able to cool it well enough to use it. Best to use an SN850X or a 980 Pro for PS5 as recommended by Sony themselves.

So are people really going gaga over gen5? Personally gen4 is good enough for me considering the price difference, and hell even gen3 would good enough for most people

Not too bad to get top of the line speeds. Like others have said though, a good Gen 4 SSD like the T500 will max out a PS5's speed or most gaming PCs. You can get a 2TB T500 for a lower price and still get ~60Gbps speeds (7400MB/s)
