it's not for all.....pacific surfliner alone covers a lot of grounds.

Great way to get from NYC to Boston, yes it should be faster but the trains are well kept and fellow travelers are usually friendly - it's been 70 years since the US invested in major national transportation infrastructure (interstate highways) so don't complain that the trains are slow compared to EU, UK, Japan, or China

it's not for all.....pacific surfliner alone covers a lot of grounds.

Probably not much. I have really enjoyed them for east coast jaunts. Overnight and spacious means I can sleep and wake up in New York or Boston. This isn't the craziest sale they've had, but seems to be more encompassing so I'll probably plan a random trip for the fall.

Thanks OP. I've only been on Amtrak once (Dallas to San Antonio), way back in the 90s as a kid. Might consider a trip w/ the kids. They've never been on a train trip before.
