It was nice when you could use this as a sound bar with airplay with the TV off. After an update, it seems like the TV must be on for it to play music.
I got a Roku to try it out last month and it's nice. When going trough the set up there was a step that I couldn't get past without entering a credit card. I cancel the initial set up, started it again and the 2nd time it had a small option to skip the credit card
If you are used to roku ultra or even roku 3 the sluggishness of this one will drive you nuts. I ended up getting a sonos beam and keeping my ultra although that's much pricier.

Ugh.. wish I had read your comment before ordering. I currently use apps via Samsung tv smart hub and it's just too clunky and slow. Guess I'll give it a try and hope for an improvement!

It's only annoying if you have had a roku 3 or ultra or equivalent.
Did Roku and YouTube TV come to terms ? They removed their app for download last week .
Not yet but Google added YouTube TV into the main YouTube app as a workaround. https://www.cnet.com/news/youtube-roku-face-off-youtube-tv-added-to-main-app-free-streaming-devices/
There is no such thing as a built in sub woofer in a sound bar. Any reproduction is bass below that 80-90hz range isn't going to be anything worth buying.
Mids are typically at least 3.5" drivers up to 6.5" on average. Subwoofers are typically 8"-12" and need an enclosure with some space to 1) house the large magnet and 2) if ported and not sealed need a certain acoustic build based on the size of the driver.
