Further the T&C for this program repeatedly call the bonus an "e-giftcard":

In order to see if multiple GC's could be applied, I added some random item to cart, filled out my info (name/address/email) and got to the checkout page where you can apply GC and choose payment. Right then I closed the page and thought nothing more of it. That was maybe an hour ago.
I just got another email from PayPal:
Save $15.00 at MLS Store
To get this discount, pay with PayPal by Friday, May 7 2021 at 6AM PDT.

Checking the T&C I don't see anything about using GC's as partial payment although I assume that they won't give you more $$ back than spent. So, whatever your order total is after the $50 GC, make sure it's at least $15 to get the full PP credit.
Of course this is YMMV, as I didn't apply for the credit and I don't think there's a code.
