when you say "these" are you referring to this brand and model? and how did you check accuracy?

Without further research I , by default , would not trust a phone for accurately measuring my numbers

I originally got 2 at walmart 7 years ago(for @$30 each). They were both very accurate. Off by 1 on oxygen.
Since then I bought 1 cheap one listed on SD. My sister has bought several cheap ones posted on SD. NONE of them were accurate.

I get my numbers tested every month at the hospital - that is how I know if my finger oximeter is accurate. I put my finger oximeter on 1 finger when the hospital gets their oximeter reading on another finger.

Besides being useful for knowing current oxygen and pulse - they are a VERY quick way to see if someone goes into A-fib. Their pulse number will start jumping all over the place.

And during covid - getting an accurate oxygen count can be imperative. If you are at HIGH RISK getting diagnosed and treated EARLY -can be the difference between life and death.

And PLEASE EVERYBODY get your vaccine. People with blood cancers or have had transplants are DEPENDANT on herd immunity. These people and others do not necessarily develop antibodies from the vaccine. Their lives depend on others getting the vaccine too and wearing masks.

Get a vaccine to save someone else's life. It is not like you are being asked to go war.
Here is your unique discount quote: PLZREADCAREFULLY
Helping monitor my oxygen levels was the final thing that convinced me to go to ER. Im pretty stubborn to a fault and was adamant that I could have fought it on my own at home and i would be saving a bed for actual covid patients. My oximeter read 86% which basically left me no choice. Went to the hospital got admitted and found out I have diabetes, and it could have been much much worse if I didn't get treated when I did. $5 investment to be more informed about your health.... no brainer investment. Especially during these times.

Chinese labor rates have risen. US prison labor is still the lowest.

Yea, like the prison labor in China used to clean and sort garlic for export to the U.S. garlic processors and American consumer.

So if we use the phone in the dark then I would be more effective, correct?
Possibly. I can't remember the wavelength of light that was used by the Samsung. Was it red or green? If I'm not mistaken, green light is less susceptible to interference which is why watches with built-in oximeters use green. But green might also be less accurate. Can't remember. Regardless, I prefer these clip models for various reasons, and use a Bluetooth model to transmit data to my phone. I did like the Samsung's "stress" measurement but was never able to figure out its algorithm to validate it's accuracy. I believe it was based on breath rhythm regularity.

I got and returned this exact model. Readings were very random. I left an appropriate review, and the company offered me $20 then $40 to remove it. I didn't: that would be unfair to other people.

Yeah I'm sure these really got secret Wi-Fi connections that will tell the Chinese the valuable information they been searching for this entire time... Your oxygen level at random times. 😂😂

You give not only China, but probably most other countries, more of your info by using the phone or computer you typed that comment on, and by using the internet. Yes, Google knows about the boil on your ass that you purchased medicated cream for...
And they probably already sold that info to China anyway. If not some other American tech company probably did.

So either go live in the woods and wrap yourself in tin foil (I think I seen a deal on Slickdeals recently) or give up on any shred of privacy. Everyone who wants to know your info knows it already... And they don't care about your oxygen levels. 🙄😂😒

For what Iyour reply is worth, I really did buy one, and I really do beam most info to the mothership. I'm from Silly Con Valley and I am aware.

VERY inaccurate! I returned it...never had the same reading or even close, and when I took it with me to dr, was terribly off vs theirs.

Be sure to check the accuracy. These cheap ones can be defective.

I have a new samsung phone and a smart watch but a device specifically built as a pulse ox is easily more reliable.

They removed oxygen measurement from Note 20 Ultra for some reason. Frown
