You forgot to mention to click on the 256GB SSD option to remove the 1TB HDD in your steps.
Note: The HP Website shows changing to white is a $0 change, but was actually -$20 to get it down...

I must be doing something wrong: I applied instructions to the letter and cannot get the price of $700 (it remains $789 in cart).
See my comment.....
You also need to change the HDD options...That cuts $90 off.
In short, by default it comes with 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD.
His deal only references the 256GB SSD.

Not sure if he forgot of the defaults on the linked deal changed.
However, once changing to JUST the 256 GB SSD, it will be down to $699.

Thx. Got the price to $699 by switching from spinner to PCIe drive, thanks. I need some caffeine in my spinner, lol....

Is this the faster new 1650? Even if it is, seems like a waste to pair this CPU with an anemic GPU.

Intel by far.
Avoid RealTek, they tend to have problematic drivers.

I got this for $350 last Nov after it's price drop war from Microsoft, AND Microsoft then screwed up on their website description of the laptop and sent me a $50 giftcard to not sue.

Actually they added the 1TB HDD after I posted the deal. Initially, it was $699 with just 256GB SSD. And regarding the Color change to Ghost White, the $20 price reduction comes from the Keyboard section which gets automatically changed to Full-size island-style backlit keyboard(Shadow black and ghost white) [-$20]

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. I have updated the post with the step of selecting the 256GB SSD only.
