Short answer: I don't know.

Long answer: I have 2013 MacBook air and managed to use the original battery till Mar 2021. What I liked about MBA is I don't have to carry my charger with me. I just charge it at night and use it during the day (less than 8 hours/day). The last couple of years I had to carry the charger and MBA suddenly switched off when battery had 50% left. With the new battery, I'm back to leaving my charger home.
There's another coupon under the item for an additional $8 off. Great deal!
Got this a few months ago. Good product. The replacement was easy and holds charge well.

Youtube has tons of tutorials. Type in your model number on Amazon and search. Apple Macbook Pro Retina battery replacement is tricky. Let Apple do it for $150

How hard is to put this battery in and take the old one out?

With Macbook air it's super easy. It will not take more than 15 - 20 minutes

I paid like $120 I think at Best Buy to replace my battery for an early 2015 mba and that included installation. For how long Apple original battery lasts it's worth it to be done by an oficial source.

It should be good for 4-5 years 1000 charging cycle.

Bestbuy actually uses Apple battery from Apple. They are authorized service center.

yes, that is why I did on best buy. official battery. My battery was changed in 2020, it was still able to hold a charge for a long time, but it had puffed inside that the trackpad was giving me issues.

Yes.

You are looking are cycle count. Anything near 1000… its about to die.

Just like car batteries, all batteries die over time.

See this official Apple guide.

So what is a "battery rundown" ? Does that mean leaving the Macbook unplugged and letting the battery drain until it dies? Then recharging again?

What is your process for doing a battery rundown on the macbooks? how do you know that the battery has poor performance upon doing this? is it a specific software utility?

I use a simple app that I designed that just writes the start time into a text document. Every minute, it writes a new entry with the time - so I just take the starting time and then look for the ending time, and go from there. I usually will boot from an external drive that I've prepared as well in order to reduce other variables. You could probably find an app that does the same thing.

I'll throw a Youtube video up on the screen (one of those 10 hour loop videos with no ads), put the screen at full brightness, and let it run down from a full charge. Anything below 4 hours runtime goes back to the manufacturer.

It might be a bit of work for a one-off battery install, but it weeds out the duds pretty well.

Nice! So the app you wrote basically just records the uptime of the computer so that when you leave it on with the battery it effectively records how long the system ran before dying

I only show a cycle of 570 on my system and the battery shows that it needs to be serviced... this is a mid-2013 MBA. I wonder if leaving it plugged in all the time didn't help with keeping the battery in prime condition.

I still use my Mid-2011 MBA.

Back around the time when I became a legend that people write stories about here on Slickdeals.

In 10 years, I've only replaced the battery once, so the 2nd battery is dire need of replacement...

Dope that this deal popped up.

Fantastic deal. I bought the new MacBook Air 2020 M1 and returned it the next day because the webcam is unusable and my MacBook Air 2013 has way better webcam, it also look and feel like brand new with only the battery draining too fast. This will give it another 2 years as my daily web browsing video chatting machine easily. Hopefully by then the person responsible for webcams on Mac will be replaced
