Destiny Connect: Tick Tock Travelers was a very fun game. Its a great starter RPG and has enough customization that makes it more complex as it goes along. It is also a very cute game with likable characters and a good story.
I'd also recommend Alliance Alive and the Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. Both have very good stories. Alliance Alive had good gameplay, characters don't really level but you gain skills and HP/MP as you use attacks.

Good deal since you can't find the physical version anywhere and the used market for it is stupid.

Price for Langrisser on OP post(and FP post) are wrong. It's $29.99 not $24.99.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is a great game. Won't win any awards for graphic fidelity, but plays great and the narrative is competently done.

I love RPGs, especially turn-based. Disgaea and Ys both look like great options and there are so many other choices on sale. Any recommendations on which of these is the best to buy?

Disgaea is not an RPG. It's a turn based strategy game. I played it on PS2 with over 200hrs logged. Ys VIII is action RPG. Neither one is what you described, which is a turn based JRPG, but if you like strategy or action RPG, both games are great and I totally recommend it. Well worth the money.
