Too bad iPad Pro cannot output usb c display out to my Dell ultrawide 34 inch in its native resolution (the Dell ultrawide nature resolution I mean)

The iPad Pro processor can definitely support all type so monitor resolutions. But the iPad os software limits its use. All it does is really just display out to my usb c monitor and I get two black boxes on the side of the screen. A waste of screen real estate.

It can be a true laptop replacement being able to output out to multiple display resolutions.

M1 is way better and faster. Current iPad pro has A14X which is way slower than M1

I will be starting medical school, I would prefer it in the next few months.
Tbh, I'm not sure if I'd like the 11 inch or 12.9 inch more anyways though. I have a 2016 Macbook Pro that is still running just fine.
Congrats on acceptance to medical school! I start dental school this year as well, and was torn between the MacBook Air and this. I bought the MacBook, but haven't opened it yet. I sort of prefer the MacBook, but was thinking of going with this for the ability to take notes with the Apple Pencil. I'll probably stick with the laptop though, and just type notes. Decisions lol. Just want to be as efficient as possible with school!

Currently in med school as well. Honestly I'd say get the 12.9. Once you use it you can't go back to the small one😂

It's very useful for pulling up notes on notability and annotating them. That's the main reason I prefer the 12.9 is because the screen size is close to the size of a sheet of paper so it's scaled when I want to annotate or view something. I'd even go as far as say you could probably get away with it being your only computer since you really don't need any fancy software in med school. All of my programs work perfectly fine on my iPad and I have a windows desktop and Chromebook to supplement it as well. Everything I do is through a browser

Thanks! Congratulations to you as well. I've heard that a tablet+stylus is essential, so I would consider that!

Appreciate the insight! Unfortunately, I've already used to 100 off 500 and impulsively purchased the 11 inch, 128gb model haha. It was an hour to contact CSR to get the coupon code, so it'd be a little hassle/might be impossible to get another coupon if I want to purchase the 12.9 instead.

I had also already purchased the 11in Magic Keyboard...any opinions on that or other cases? Or even the paper-like screen protectors I've heard about?

I don't typically handwrite notes anyways, but I thought it would be good to annotate slides/diagrams with...I wish I could get into handwritten note-taking, but I always get frustrated when looking at my bad handwriting and thinking that I had missed something, so I always just learn from the slides haha.

Thank you! And yeah I'm definitely going to consider it. Regarding the magic keyboard..I don't know much about it, but I keep reading a lot of great things about it.

Why does the description say 3rd gen, but specs say M1, which would imply 5th gen? Any chance they send you the older 3rd gen due to description?

The M1 is in 3rd gen ipad pro 11 and 5th gen ipad pro 12.9. The "smaller" ipad pro was a 9.7 during gen 1 of the 12.9 and a 10.5 during gen 2 of the 12.9.
