Appreciate the insight! Unfortunately, I've already used to 100 off 500 and impulsively purchased the 11 inch, 128gb model haha. It was an hour to contact CSR to get the coupon code, so it'd be a little hassle/might be impossible to get another coupon if I want to purchase the 12.9 instead.

I had also already purchased the 11in Magic Keyboard...any opinions on that or other cases? Or even the paper-like screen protectors I've heard about?

I don't typically handwrite notes anyways, but I thought it would be good to annotate slides/diagrams with...I wish I could get into handwritten note-taking, but I always get frustrated when looking at my bad handwriting and thinking that I had missed something, so I always just learn from the slides haha.
You'll be fine with iPad Pro 11" for med school. You'll mostly be annotating notes with the Apple Pencil so it'll likely be easier to use than the larger 12.9". Even if you don't typically do handwritten notes now, you'll be doing it a lot in school especially since you can draw a ton of arrows to help make sense of things.

The Magic Keyboard 11" is the way to go along with a screen protector. However, just know that when you're annotating notes in class with the pencil, you'll most likely be using it out of the Magic Keyboard case as it cannot fully fold back. Only the Smart Keyboard Folio can fold back all the way. If I were you, I would probably have the magic keyboard and either use a protective skin or have another case that I can put it in while annotating.

I wish Costco had offered the cellular version. With Walmart being sold out almost immediately, had to pay retail. Am taking advantage of this so-so offer someone else posted. Hope the 5G on this lives up to the hype. My phone is only 4G capable.

It's very useful for pulling up notes on notability and annotating them. That's the main reason I prefer the 12.9 is because the screen size is close to the size of a sheet of paper so it's scaled when I want to annotate or view something. I'd even go as far as say you could probably get away with it being your only computer since you really don't need any fancy software in med school. All of my programs work perfectly fine on my iPad and I have a windows desktop and Chromebook to supplement it as well. Everything I do is through a browser
Good morning future health professionals! I'm a rising second year med student myself, and I've literally told every incoming student that you can't survive without an iPad. I had the 9.7" Pro first, upgraded to the 11" Pro, and less than a year after having the 11", I'm jumping on the 12.9".

As a visual learner I feel like I will personally benefit from the bigger screen. There are some apps that work really well together when studying - Notability and OneNote, for example. The big screen allows for split screen so that you can watch lectures/videos and take notes at the same time, or you could have a pdf textbook open while looking something up on Safari or Chrome. You can even do a Qbank on one side while having OneNote on the other to take notes. The possibilities are endless!
