Because it costs them to ship..
I believe if you return it, those shipping charge will be refunded as well. I know it's odd, but that's Costco's policy.

i think costco does not cover accidental damage, right?...!!

I see this...

Costco extends the manufacturer's warranty up to 2 years from the date of purchase.

The 2nd year warranty is offered on the following items:
Televisions
Projectors
Computers*
Major Appliances†

*Excluding Touchscreen Tablets.
†Refrigerators (above 10 cu. ft.), freezers, ranges, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, washers and dryers.
Yep, so only extra Citi 2 years coverage, I assume the coverage is kind of limited.

Personally the new Pro w/ 8 GB RAM and quad Big cores vs 4 GB w/ 2 Big cores. It should last much longer, but all depends on usage.
I guess what is drawing me to the new iPad is the Thunderbolt port for external monitors…if the iPad Air would allow you to use that feature without having black borders on the sides that would be ideal enough for me. The Magic keyboard is so dumb expensive that at 650 + then another $300 I feel like you might as well buy a MacBook Air?

Good morning future health professionals! I'm a rising second year med student myself, and I've literally told every incoming student that you can't survive without an iPad. I had the 9.7" Pro first, upgraded to the 11" Pro, and less than a year after having the 11", I'm jumping on the 12.9".

As a visual learner I feel like I will personally benefit from the bigger screen. There are some apps that work really well together when studying - Notability and OneNote, for example. The big screen allows for split screen so that you can watch lectures/videos and take notes at the same time, or you could have a pdf textbook open while looking something up on Safari or Chrome. You can even do a Qbank on one side while having OneNote on the other to take notes. The possibilities are endless!
Can the 11 inch not do a split screen? It would just be scaled smaller?

At this point, I think I would just sell my 2016 Macbook Pro then, return the 11 inch pro I've already bought and ask Costco if they would allow me to apply the coupon on the 12.9. But then I'd have to return the 11inch magic keyboard as well and purchase the more expensive 12.9 keyboard...

Anyone know if you can run a remote desktop connection via iPad Pro? I'd be more comfortable using the 12.9 iPad Pro as my daily tablet/laptop then, as I could just remote to my desktop if I needed to run any Mac/Windows only software.

I was debating between 12 and 11. Finally I went with 11" (lighter and thinner), so it can be used for both tablet and laptop.

The biggest selling point for me is M1 chip, TB4 for external monitor. 11" has lesser quality screen, but if using as laptop, you will need an external monitor anyway.

Be sure to get 512GB or up if you plan to use it as laptop. Got it for a college kid. He has an Intel MBP i7 (dual windows/mac boot for an engineering student), this M1 tablet/laptop will be a perfect companion for him.

My bad, I meant that it would be scaled smaller, which is fine if you're scribbling small notations here and there, but I found it way too small to take notes. And if I enlarged the note taking app during split screen, then the video became smaller, which ran fine, but then I couldn't see it as well as when it was 50/50 split... so I'm hoping 12.9 hits the right spot.

As far as remote desktop, I'm not 100% sure on that - you can use the iPad as an extension of your Mac display, but you would still be tethered to your computer. I did look it up and saw that there are remote desktop apps in the App Store, so maybe you'll find your answer there.

You're right about this. Tried to get my AirPods fixed through Citi and gave me an extremely hard time with getting repair costs etc. I eventually did not purse my claim any further.
Me too. I bought a recliner that broke with citi and she said i had to request a repair through the manufacture. I tried to request a repair. It was so difficult and was going to cost money per hour of labor plus parts. Sounded like a headache. I gave up.

Not useless depending on how much legwork you're willing to do. I would rather have this option then not. I'm sure if they just paid out willy nilly, people will abuse it like they did with price protection.

iPad is NOT part of the extra 1 yr warranty through Costco so 1 yr Apple plus 2 yr from Citi Costco (if you use that card).
