Hello fellow SD'ers!! hug

This is for a pre-order for the new iMac in various colors that is set to ship near the end of May 2021. You can also set for in-warehouse pick up for peace of mind from all these thieves stealing packages! Applause

It is $50 dollars cheaper buying through Costco @ $1649.99 rather than 1699.99. Apple care ($134.99 / 3 Years) is also $30 dollars less than if you were to buy from Best Buy or Apple directly. Use your Costco Visa card for 2% back on your purchases if you are an executive member! laugh out loud

if you're basically using this like an ipad (one thing at a time, nothing too intensive, just like word processing, emails, light internet browsing) then yes, but thats frankly unacceptable for a $1650 computer

It seems the only good looking Macintosh they can make is the Mini, because this joins a long list of "what were they thinking" for design. That chin was completely avoidable, but they wanted to have it be paper thin all the way through and sacrificed aethetics.

For military, the tax savings alone destroys this deal. You can also see if they will price match this.

I think more people want the custom options straight from Apple and being able to split payments over a few months.

In this deal, the biggest benefit for me is the Costco pick up.

Just one jags opinion but I love the new iMac and think they intentionally retained the chin as part of its iconic design. I'm wondering if they'll actually remove it from the pros or just reduced its size. Kinda like the iPhone notch distinguishes it from all other phones.

But this isn't a deal if you have access to the Apple Military/Veteran store or much simpler their education store Smilie

Thanks for the suggestion. Were you able to place an order with military discount?

That chin has functionality to it believe it or not. Yes, they could have reduced those bezels and made the back of it thicker to accommodate for a bezeless design. However, this is very much a mixture of a throwback to older mac styles while catering to general users. If you compared all in ones from the PC side there are many all in one pcs with huge chins. This style is very distinguishable and very much an Apple move. The rumored Pro version will probably be designed the way you want, but this design is far from terrible. You won't get an all-in-one pre-built desktop better than this, the m1 apple lineup is blowing the competition out of the water for general users and even pro users. You cannot beat their displays either.

one of the iMac's main selling point was easy upgradable RAM, M1 killed it. (Don't get me wrong, M1 is much faster and efficient), however, the locking of main components and excessive disk write in low RAM M1 model is not worth your bucks. That's why I always suggest getting a 16G model if you can or wait for the upgradable RAM solution for the M1 chip.
