Note that these prices also apply to the physical copy, which meant that anyone who's has gamestop pro rewards can use their monthly $5 reward to bring the price down a bit. Also qualifies for free shipping.

Some for could be priced the same on Amazon.

It sure seems like Mario Kart 8 and Mario Tennis Aces are never going to see a digital discount ever again.

Also surprised Super Mario Party isn't on this list, considering it finally got an update so you can play the main boards online.

All I want to do is gets Mario aces for $25 like it was for a month at target. And Mario party for under $40. I might be waiting forever.

Better to get physical in case you want to resell after using/beating the game.

Even if they haven't they will price match these big retailers.

For Gamestop if you buy one new and one pre-owned, you get the pre-owned one for 30% off. Pretty good deal because then each is only like $33, so you could definitely sell them for a profit when you are done.

How do you expect to turn a profit on a game that you bought for $33?

Well on ebay/craigslist I see they are selling for $40ish. So I buy it for $33 and sell it for $40? The profit isn't really a problem though I guess. As long as I break even or only lose a couple dollars, it is a pretty good deal.

$40ish for a used game? I don't think so. Also, if you sell on ebay you need to pay 12% in fees, plus $2-3 for shipping. Craigslist is a different deal, but the target market is a lot smaller.

I mean you can literally check the price that these games are being sold for on ebay. For $40 you still get more than $33 after fees. If you think you can't sell them for a profit, then don't buy them if that is an issue, but you probably can or at least only lose a couple dollars.

I am just telling you you're not going to get more than $40 for a used game, maybe a bit over $30, and then you have to factor in the fees. As for myself, I am not buying a game unless I intend to own it. If I were to resell it, I would never buy it in the first place.

The horror of selling it a bit over $30 and losing like $3 on it...

I probably will end up keeping them because I never sell my games, but this math convinces me that this is an investment and not me wasting money.

It's no horror. It's just that your estimate seemed naively optimistic.
