The writer of one of my favorite sci-fi series of books just put up his book Betta Fish and Backcountry for free on Amazon. This isn't science fiction but a really personal look at the author as he grapples with life after the loss of his father. Seriously, it's worth your time.
Darkly profound, astute, and stirring, Betta Fish and Backcountry proves much more than a poetry chapbook. It's a guide to moving on.
Grappling with grief in the American wilderness, Nicholas Trieste's debut celebrates truth by facing tragedy head-on. Born of hardship, isolation, insight, and a wealth of love, these powerful selections will resonate with willing readers.
How are we meant to spend our time?
Can self-doubt ever be surmounted?
Must joy render mourning void?
What's life like beyond our bubble?
Explore the answers yourself, and live to mirror nature's beauty.
From the Author
I wrote this book after the loss of my father, and how nature, travel, and isolation in the backcountry of America helped me with the grieving process.
His science fiction books are called Bulb and Fuse, but they're under Nicholas Turner. No idea about the two different names, but it's the same person.
