I discovered if you leave a tiny roller and a shotglass of paint next to the feeder, the birds will usually paint the house themselves. FYI - for whatever reason. carolina wrens prefer a brush instead of a roller - I think it has to do with their feet's grip pattern.
Cool project idea, now just have to find a bird feeder that the squirrels can't get to.
Honestly, I built a baffle and it's the only thing that has worked for me. I tried slinkies, and greasing the pole, pretty much everything. lol Similar to this, but theres a lot of guides and youtube vids on how to do it. https://todayshomeowner.com/how-t...er-baffle/

Oh nice, too bad the closest Michael's is like an hour from me. Would pick up a few otherwise.
The mini ones for $0.50 say they must be ordered in multiples of 6.
And yeah, these squirrels around here are a nuisance. You can't have a plastic bird feeder because they will chew the thing up. They try to chew through everything to get to the bird seed. They run the birds off and eat all the seed slam up!

In my best Michael Scott voice, "That's What She Said"!

We had our feeder hanging on a pole and the squirrel never bothered it. Its the bear we haven't figured out a solution for. He bent the pole to get the feeder down.

They can't be easily cleaned
They have an outside perch
No predator guard
Search for a 'nest box' instead if you want to support birds, (and don't let house sparrows in!)
