I'm not sure if this is available everywhere, but I do see that it's available for shipping, so it might be. This is a good way to get RTX 3080 now as I can pick it up tomorrow.

If this Aurora R12 is similar to the Aurora R11 your CPU will thermal throttle. At full load the Core i9-10900K peaks at around 85°C and throttles to 3.85 GHz; which is almost 1 GHz lower than its max all-core turbo boost frequency of 4.8 GHz according to https://hothardware.com/reviews/a...iew?page=2

And the i9-10900K used a 140mm radiator AIO liquid cooler, while this i7-11700F looks to be using a generic 65W cooler inside a case that has poor airflow.

So I got two systems, the ibuypower and the alienware...both 3080, both around ~2100. Which one would you recommend. Also do you recommend I just sell the 3080 and keep the remainder of the pc on the second one?
i sold the card and kept the system and put in my rx580 pretty much free upgrade coming from a i5 2500k overclocked lol. im pretty happy with the results Smilie

"ASUS ROG prebuilt has similar specs and comes with an ASUS TUF 3080, all for $200 less and doesn't look like a cyber vagina. If you have the patience, I'd wait. But if you can't wait anymore, this is instant ship I guess."

Its not like it will be easy to buy those
Not easy by any stretch, but the first batch is at least scheduled and best buy tries to give people a fair shot. I'd probably try my luck at the 3080ti initial release. But to each their own!

I did price match this to Dell. While there's a lead time it's better then nothing. I upgraded to the liquid cooling/1000w pay and overclockable I7 cpu for $150 extra. Total out the door was $2544.

I then got a $100 credit for asking to "cancel" my order so $2444 total.

Yes, as is this for most people too, the good news it's the worst system in these spec ranges and it's well overpriced for what it is. There have been plenty of better 3080 deals to come and go and this is the worst one yet.

Its a Dell OEM version, usually made by MSI and has 2 fans
More on this:
All of our video cards are OEM (original equipment manufacturer). Dell has always used OEM customized hardware purchased from the manufacturer to meet our conservative restrictions (VBIOS, System BIOS, drivers, etc.) based on our chosen thermals.

Nvidia and AMD have a base design for all of their video cards. That base design is then changed per the buyers (Dell, PNY, EVGA, MSI, ASUS) customized instructions. What you paid for is a Dell OEM video card. Not an off the shelf retail video card. So you cannot use the Nvidia reference specifications when discussing our OEM video card.

4Y12V MSI RTX 3080, 10GB GDDR6X 320 bit width, base clock 1.44GHz, boost clock 1.71GHz

1440 Default clock and 1710 boost clock is the exact same as the Nvidia reference design: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/gefo.../rtx-3080/

If you scroll down on that page until you hit "specs" and click on "view full specs" you will see the reference design specs.

The specs on the Dell card match the Nvidia reference specs. What does not match is the cooling solution. Many board partners use 3 fan cooling solution. Dell had to use their own custom solution, a 2 fan setup, because they had to shorten up the card a bit to make it fit in the Aurora chassis.

Won't matter soon enough with 3080s being nerfed at the manufacturer to prevent profit in bitcoin mining. Should help even out the market very soon especially once resells find out their June shipped 3080s won't resell in mining rigs.

So you don't have any examples of better deals?

I've been following 3080 deals very closely and the ASUS ROG from Best Buy was one of best deals, if not the best, from the past few months.

Please post examples of better deals.
